Konnichiwa

Oh dear, it's been a year plus since I have updated... *blows dust* haha. Honestly, what happened to me?

So, konnichiwa (hello)! Saikin do?

"Saikin do?" in Japanese means "What's up?" It's a common expression for people to use with people they are familiar with. Haha, so I reckon most of the people who read my blog are people I know anyway.. :P

I am fine, but am ridiculously busy since I have started working. It's so crazy that I have such little time for myself...

Anyway, I feel that I want to update, just a little update. I will hopefully share more. Time oh time!

In March, I visited the beautiful Japan with my siblings and since then, I cannot move on, probably will never move on! It's such a fascinating country, the people are extremely helpful and the food are absolutely delicious. The views are breath-taking but the city of Tokyo is awfully busy. I almost fainted when walking in the crowd. Despite that, I still enjoyed Japan very much.

ANDDD, I definitely will visit again in the future :)

Here are some pictures that I have taken whilst my trip there. (You can also click on the individual picture to read my rather lengthy comment on flickr.)

Balik kampong!

So, last week, my family and I came back to our kampong (village-- for some reason I prefer using 'kampong' than village) in Kota Bahru (KB), Kelantan for a few days. Basically we went for food hunting and also visiting our relatives.

I brought along my dslr hoping that I would take some photos.. but I still didn't bother myself using it that much! ahah! lazy.

In this trip, it was my first time driving there. I drove at least 3-4 hours over almost 9 hour of journey. It was a pretty good experience! The road was different from the road that I usually drove on/took.

We stayed a night at my aunt's house in Machang before we headed to KB the next morning. And the next morning, I was greeted by my cousin's daughter, Aisy, that I haven't seen for a year. She's grown than ever. :')

Aisy asked me to play with her. When I was there, she never ceased to greet me in the morning and asked me to play with her.

childhood revisited!

Then, we went to my aunt's house near Kampung Sabak.

(I am actually an orang kampong, but very deeeeeep inside of me)

barber kampong.

When we are in Kelantan, we never forget to eat the very delicious mee kuah, mee kg pek!! God. NOW I NEED SOME OF THIS.

mee kuah

Aisy actually waited for me for the rest of the day to play with me... and I had to layan her despite it was quite late already. I can't wait to become a mother myself! haha! :p

(my passion-for-teaching shone, obviously! duh!:p)

OH. AND this is a must visit place when in KB.

Pasar Besar Siti Khadijah -- colourful!

sup perut, MMUUUSSST HAVEEE!

In the evening, we strolled to the famous beach in KB. It is called Pantai Cahaya Bulan (PCB).
(me as a mother) (just saying cos i'm fabulous like that) (just kidding)
Alongside the beach, there are a lot of food stalls that sell this kind of food/drink:

And, why. never say no. can't get this kind of enjoyment in Kuala-la-la Lumpur!

miss miss. <3

PCB at 6.45pm-ish.

The morning we departed back home, we revisited the Pasar to get some stuff.

famous kuih topi in Kelantan. must try!

turtle eggs. hmm.

I had a really good time in kampong and honestly I love my kampong! I can't speak Kelantanese well but understanding it wouldn't be a problem. I love the friendly people and my friendly relatives here.

This is the kampong that I'll always miss.

Weekend Getaway

Last two weeks, I did something I never did in my life, that is went for a trip with friends for a weekend. I've done alone, but never with friends which is pretty weird haha. The friends are friends I know from the academic camp I went last December. We planned the trip in a short time I'd say, but it was worth it. The intercity train ride was my first one in Malaysia actually! I've been on intercity trains a few times, but apparently not in Malaysia :P

Anyway.. back to the story!

Anas, Amna, Ami, Kak Farah and Tip and I arrived at Bagan Serai, Perak KTM station as early as 4.30am and we had to wait for the big boss, Pipa to come to pick us up to our homestay which is app. 20 mins from the KTM station. So while the wait, we played "heads-up" & monopoly.

Then.. the whole day, was full with activities with our students from the camp. Unforgettable! :)

After we had lunch at Nafiz's (one of our students), Pipa sent Kak Farah and I to Ipoh. We wandered around the town for awhile before our train to KL.

I would say that the trip was somehow a trip I wish it was longer. It was really brief, while so much more that we could do.

Tapi apakan daya, jodoh kita mungkin ada pada masa hadapan. InshaAllah. :)
