It's been a long time since my last post and it's not even about this year. Uh-oh dear, I don't even know where's my motivation at! I've been tremendously busy and am content with life but that shouldn't be an excuse at all. This blog is here for a reason. In a year or so, I'll be reading back what I've written and smile back.
I really enjoyed the period I was here. The school was fine, the pupils were okay (but mine were exceptionally naughty), the teachers and the staff were helpful. Except that I couldn't use the photocopy machine like I did in Lukut. BUT, it was fine. My practicum mates were super nice as well. :)
I am sharing with you some photos I took while I was in the school and I warn yah, majority of these photos are unedited/raw photos I took with my iPhone. So excuse the quality.
For two months, I did my practicum phase 2 in this school, and ah, only on the first day, I took photos in front of the building. *crying of laughter emoji* I knew that I had plenty of time to take photos here whenever but I did nevertheless.
I wore the matrics card only on the first day. Why? |
"Eleh Miss, you're only a practical teacher. We know it."
Then another student added, "tu, pakai matrics card, macam abang saya dekat u je. practical kan?"
Ahaha, and so I never wore the matrics card anymore for the rest of two months.
matching with *not* my bae. :3 |
coincidentally wore the same baju kurung with my friend lol XD |

I still remember, on one of the days. I was observed for the first time by my lecturer for Language Arts (LA) subject. It was on a Wednesday. Suddenly I was called by my mentor to see her in the staff room. Once I arrived there, she asked me where I was because I was supposed to relieve a class but I had settled that with my friend to take over the relieve class for me. Somehow, there was a misunderstanding.. and she wasn't satisfied with me because I forgot to tell her I would be observed on that day. Then, she asked me.
"When can I observe you? It's already the second week and I haven't seen you teach yet."
"Oh, yes. I only got to teach this week Ma'm. Maybe next class? Because I already taught Language Arts this week."
"No. I want to observe you tomorrow. My class, 2A."
My friend, Joey, (practicum mate) was handling that class for Language Arts class, so I still thought it's kinda impossible. She has already taught LA today and again this week?
"But 2A already had their LA class as well today madam."
"No problem. Flexible. You teach tomorrow and I'll observe you."
"Alright, Madam. See you tomorrow."
Haha. My head went a little crazy that day, I cried because I wasn't having enough sleep that week for a few days already and the worst was I actually never taught her class. I never talk to the kids in that class, and to be observed tomorrow? That's super insane.
Nevertheless, I took the challenge and burnt the midnight oil to prepare for the observation. And I'm super thankful two of my friends Joey and Christine helped me to brainstorm some ideas. It was a simple lesson plan but very meaningful in my opinion.
The feedback from my mentor was great, alhamdulillah. She was happy that I could handle the class and taught despite that I never saw the children beforehand. I learnt that I must always be positive and accept challenges from senior teachers. Sometimes they do provoke, but I believe that for my growth to be a tough and creative teacher.
Stick puppets by 2A pupils. :) |
I was just lucky that 2A pupils have higher understanding of English and also they behaved well. So that eased my work a lot. Tackling kids in such a short time depends on their level, trust me. And of course, our attitude towards them. :)
my happy pupil doing her door sign. I miss. |
sometimes I got headache from their hilarious spelling on their homework. ahaha. :') |
"stand up properly, I want to take a photo." "okay Miss." *and they act like hyperactive kids* ahaha. |
the most adorable boy in my class. |

with all of my practicum mates. :) |
I am at that point where my laziness is at its peak, so I'm just gonna let the photos do the talking. There are absolutely a lot of stories beneath the pictures but I am just pure lazy. ahaha.
Have a lovely weekend. :)
